Project Overview

SIMS is a POS (Point to Sale) desktop application. Rent a center are completely redesigning there existing POS system and they hired me to work as UX Architect. This is my first project as UX Architect. It is a completely different project than my previous project. this project need more into process rather than design. I work with the JAVA team. It is one of my best experiences in Application redesign.

Project Details

Title: Lead UX Designer

Description: Java Swing base POS application

Role and Responsibilities

  • Studied Sales, Billing, Order use cases for built a UI.
  • Work on wireframe, storyboard
  • Work on UI design pattern in application screen.
  • Worked with Java developer team and integrated GUI in Java Swing environment
  • Applied Desktop UI principal in POS system and built interfaces.
  • Develop a POS application simultor for UX testing
  • Create a POS application UI documentation for consistence UI look and feel

Project Details:
  • Year: 2010-2011 (9 Months)
  • Design Tools and IDE: Eclipse, wireframesketcher, Adobe Photoshop
  • Scripts :Java Swing, Java (JSP), J2EE, HTML, CSS3.
  • Managemet Tool: Microsoft Project.
